How We Got Here
Specialized from the Start
The Edge opened as a yoga and barre studio. As yoga and barre became staples at the big gyms, we realized what set us apart was our commitment to our clients — not a commitment to filling classes with as many people as possible. Staying small was a conscious decision. Our students are the point. That commitment is how we became Cape Girardeau’s first independent fully equipped Pilates studio, and still the only place here teaching aerial arts and pole.
Aerial, pole, and tumbling run in sessions — the same group, week after week. Your instructor isn’t meeting a new room every class. She knows where each of you started and what you worked on last time, so the plan moves as the group moves.
Pilates runs by appointment. If you need to change your time, you let your instructor know and she puts you in a class that matches where you are in your training — not just whatever slot happens to be open.
This only works by keeping class sizes is small. Pilates runs five to six people. Aerial, pole, and tumbling run four to eight. We think our commitment to our students is why people stay. Ask some of our students that have taking classes here for over 10 years!
Confidence Through Movement
Built for Growing Students
Kids and youth programs at The Edge are designed to help students build strength, coordination, creativity, and confidence. Classes are structured, active, and encouraging, with real progression behind the fun. Students can begin with tumbling or aerial arts and continue developing skills as their confidence grows. For some, that path stays recreational. For others, it can lead toward performance opportunities and a stronger sense of what they are capable of doing.
Strength Recovery and Creative Movement
Movement for Adult Lives
Adult services at The Edge bring together Pilates, sauna recovery, massage therapy, aerial arts, and pole fitness in one specialized setting. We believe a Cape Girardeau movement studio should feel personal, not crowded, so students are guided toward the right starting point before they move forward. Pilates and recovery support strength, posture, longevity, and self-care. Aerial and pole offer a more creative, athletic way to build strength and confidence. The Edge also hosts special events, corporate experiences, private parties, and workshops for groups who want something more memorable than the usual gathering.
Stories from the Studio
See What Moves
The Edge has stories worth sharing because students do more than take classes here. They get stronger, more confident, and sometimes they become professional artists. This is where we share it: what students are working on, what’s coming up, how recovery works, and what a normal night looks like in the studio. If you’re deciding whether to try a class, start here!
